This is me. Impressed. LOVE the blue swirls in this bar-I could stare at that alone all day. Smells amazing! Even as a woman, I’m all over the masculine vibes. Highly recommend!!
This review is for the Hawthorne brick, which is a Scrub Club exclusive product but is related to the Pacific Ocean Blue. So I'm dropping the review here, since I there isn't a product listing for the Hawthorne.
I've been using Hawthorne for about a week now, and I am really enjoying it. The first few days I used it, any time I went into the bathroom I would get the hints of the redwood/cedar woodsy scent with the touch of lime essential oil (a change from the Pacific Ocean Blue mandarin, to the lime in the Hawthorne). I had an instinctively pleasant urge to take a deep inhalation and let out a nice and relaxed sigh each time I smelled it.
The experience of using the bar in the shower has been great. The scent while using it is even better than the general scent that fills the room, the bar lathers quite nicely, and I like the grit from the California sand (another change from the Pacific Ocean Blue to the Hawthorne). My daily driver soap until now has had pumice in it, so I am used to and like some grit!
I decided to cut the bar into smaller pieces, about one-thirds, as recommended by Brick Box as a way to preserve the longevity of the brick. With Hawthorne, I like using the smaller size bar. I enjoy the grit of the sand for the majority of my scrubbing, but there are a few spots where I don't want so much grit. Having the smaller piece, with the grit concentrated in the white swirls in the bar (so it seems to me, anyway), allows me to use the grit where I want it, and keep it away from where I don't.
I'm glad that I have two bars of Hawthorne to get to enjoy it for a while. And looking forward to getting to try out some of the other products!
